I have an echo, and it's great! It turns on my Philips hue lights, plays podcasts, Pandora, and my Amazon music library. It's my alarm clock in the morning and cooking timer during the day. It's my news source for a quick summary of current events. They keep on adding new features like you can ask StubHub for events happening in the area this weekend. It's a pain sometimes to yell from the other room. That is exactly why they needed to offer a mini version for the other rooms in order to truly have a connected home. I already ordered my mini though my current echo. Some people going to hate while the early adopters have all the fun.

Oh so a smaller more useless piece of junk that no one wants.

It's a mini-me version of echo basically. The speaker is just functional. You're expected to use the aux out port to connect it to an external speaker (possibly make it a smart speaker, like what chromecast music does) and give it Alexa capability
